In Loving Memory of Conrad J. Tondreau

Conrad Joseph Tondreau was born in Augusta on Nov. 2, 1930, the son of Joseph Tondreau and Marie Ange (Pomerleau) Tondreau.

Conrad was educated at St. Augustine School. He was employed by the Augusta Police Department for 22 years, retiring as a lieutenant. During his time as a police officer, he touched many people's lives. He was also self-employed as an earth contractor for 50 years, along with snow plowing commercially for more than 30 years.

Conrad was a member of St. Michael Parish at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, a member of the Calumet Club and North Augusta Trailblazers Club, a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and a former member of the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks, where he was the organist for 15 years.

He loved his horses, showing them for more than 25 years. His love of horses touched many, as did his enthusiasm for riding. In his younger days, he trained his horses to do many tricks that they performed at many shows, riding in places such as Boston Garden and many parades along the way.

He loved playing music, whether at home or volunteering his time playing his organ at the Cohen Center or for the Manchester senior citizens or local nursing homes. He loved to play for anyone, and those who heard loved his music.

Conrad touched so many people's lives every day of his life. He had such a big heart and was a friend to everyone who passed through his life. He was a very caring and loving person. He was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to all of us.
